I own a RIA fs GI. I posted about this gun a while back. I had some issues with another pistol so this gun kinda got placed on hold.  My problem is I feel the mags sit too low. Rounds would nose dive. To improve the feeding I stopped using the ACT MAGs and bought CMC.  I have two questions. Hope you guys can share your opinion and knowledge.

My first question, I have 370 rounds through this gun.  7 failures to feed. 4 of those 7 being HP. Does this seem like a problem? or is this normal?

I plan on getting a EGW higher mag catch.  My question is, will I also need to get their mag catch lock, or can I use my own?

Thanks.

Ever hear the story about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear?

you can reuse the guts from your existing mag catch.

call up RIA and see if they will do anything about it.
unless it is all on one mag(and even then I would make them replace the mag, ) or it is one type of ammo, then there is something wrong with the gun and it should get fixed.

Thanks for the info guys. I ordered an EGW catch, and I hope I'll be able to use my lock. If it doesn't imporove I will call RIA and have them look at it. I do think the hole fo the catch is a bit low. SGB, I already own a few silk purses..What??? I mean, I have my pretty 1911s. This gun is my fishing gun. I needed something i wouldn't mind getting wet or muddy. Although, I will admit, I scratched it bad, and it still hurt me. I read those tripp mags sit up higher.  Is that true? Have you used them?
