I want to buy a 1911, had one years ago. Back then you bought one, it needed this and it needed that, different mags, could not hit shit with it. Been looking at the Severn custom website. I like the looks of the black valor. Looking for a good gun that shoots WWB dead on, that is well made and would last from now on. Thought's and thanks. |

"most" guns with fixed sights will be regulated to hit opint of aim (more or less) out to 25 yards with 230 grain ball.
you don't always have to spend a lot of money to get one that meets these criteria- I look for used unmodified Colts which I can usually find for under 600 bucks and these work fine. There are other options-if you are willing to consider a foreign made 1911- all those made in the phillipines by armscor- imported under various names. or the made whole or in part in Brazil Springfield Armory. while they have a good reputation for function,I myself won't have a non American made 1911. I have had nothing but good luck with colts -everything made between 1917 and current. |

I've heard good things about the Range Officer and have had good experiences with Springfield. Decided exactly what you want as far as features in the gun, and go from there. If no one has one from the factory, go custom from there. There are some awesome custom guns out there, but there are also some great offerings coming straight from the factories. |
