Got this last week and was a litle ticked as I thought it was a full size Commander frame. However after holding it and shooting it I think I made the right choice. The fit and finish I would say are above average. Shooting the gun is a dream, very clean 4 1/2 lb trigger pull. The chain scales on the front and back grip just like checkering. The fully ramped barrel was a nice find, but I assume it is that way due to the alloy frame. Fixed iron sights are Trijicons green front and orange rear. It came with 2 7rd mags that look like maybe they are Mec Gars? Shooting the gun offhand from 15 yards put them all in a nice 2" cluster. The only thing I worry about it the longevity of the alloy frame, but I am sure it will probably out last me!

I love that gun. If I were looking at a 1911 for carry that would be my number one short of a full custom

I wouldnt worry about the frame...much.   I would think wear will not be an issue for you or most of us.

Couple guys I shoot with have run thier alloy (gasp) kimbers for several thousand rounds at our weekly match without a hitch.  Only problems so far is some marks, dings & finish wear on the magwells.

Nice Gun!

THIS.  I love everything about it except for the barrel bushing.  (should be black to match the ret of the gun)

Nah, I kind of like the off-set between the bushing and the rest of the gun.

I still want one in 10mm.

Little different with a full size steel gun. I feel like a CCO 10mm would be brutal to shoot.

That ramped barrel solves the only problem (IMO) aluminum-framed 1911s, that of feed ramp wear and gouge.

Let me add that shooting this gun side by side with my Les Baer Thunder ranch I think it had less felt recoil than the Baer. Even though it's lighter than the Baer.

I had the exact same feeling when I was shooting my new Colt Talo CCO.
