Does anybody make a commander-sized full-rail pistol? I know SVI has a model that's smaller and with a long rail but I don't want to pay 4 grand and I don't really like a double stacked 1911.

Short answer - No.

You could get a Springfield operator full rail, then drop extra for a commander slide, barrel, guide rod etc. then have the dustcover cut down to fit, but I dunno if that will be wise, since  the commander size frame is different than the one on a full size 1911.

Not a true Commander sized pistol, as it has a 4" bull barrel.  But, the Pro TLE/RL II has served me well for the last 3 years.

The champion isn't a complete full rail.

I have a Springfield Custom Shop Full Rail 5" operator. I always thought that it would be super cool to have a 4" version. I will bet that the custom shop will do it, as you need just cut the frame down an inch. They already trimmed the full rail to the 3/4 rail on the TRP Operators now. I see no reason why they couldn't do it. But, youa re probably looking at a $3k gun thru the custom shop, and a year+ wait.

I waited 11 months for mine from 2008-09

I have seen a few full railed champions. Very few but they are out there. I have the full railed military operators. I carry one for work and love it. The kimber above looks good

I've already got the Lightweight Champion Operator, it would just be cool to have matching full-size and "commander" size full rails as a pair. I guess the Kimber could be cool but I feel like you'd need to engrave the sharks mouth on it with that profile up front.
