I'm looking at replacing some sights on my SA 1911, I see i'll have to go for novak cut. I'm looking at putting on a dawson FO front, and I would like a serrated adjustable rear.

I can't find a rear sight I like yet, any recommendations? and what height and width? I'm thinking about going with a very narrow front, what height should I get? If I can't settle for a adjustable rear, i'm thinking about a fixed set of fiber optic rear as well.

What height combination should I get for fast IDPA shooting about 30 feet and closer.
Thanks, KYMS

What rear sight is currently on the gun?

"factory springfield" they are tritium NS, the rear is marked novak's . It's an SA TRP, sights are pretty dim, i'm going to run it as a competition gun not a carry gun.

I'd choose a Champion adjustable rear that fits the Novak cut, and a Dawson front sight about .180" tall and .100" wide.

You wouldn't recommend a .90 for fast shooting target acquisition? I wish  had a bunch of the stuff laying around to find out what I like, it's hard to shop without being hands on lol

if the Springfield that you have is fairly new, then you will most likely need to file the sight a little to get it to fit.
here's a blog that i did because when people were swapping out the factory Springfield rear for a 10-8 (which is the same size as a Novak cut), they noticed it was too large for the dovetail.

The .100 works for me.  I find the .090 to be a bit harder to line up precisely for long accuracy shots, but YMMV.    It's all about what works for you.
