I posted on the Kimber section but had to replies. I just got myself a Kimber SIS Pro - commander size. I got it used (of course) and it is my first Kimber. Anything I should know about it?

If it's like my SIS full size it does not have a firing pin safety, so it's like a series 70. I've heard that all kimbers have the firing pin safety except the SIS, don't know if thats true. I personally don't like the firing pin safety my self.

Warrior and Desert Warrior does not have firing pin safety as well

If a Kimber model designation is followed by the suffix ll the pistol has the firing pin safety.

Mine has SIS PRO written on the slide. I took it apart last night real quick and I dont recall seeing any firing pin safety. Will look again today after work.

SIS models sold to the public don't have the firing pin safety.
