Some guy has a Springfield 1911 listed in a regional paper.
I called him up and he said I could have the gun for $400. Being a complete noob to 1911's, I would like to know if this is a fair deal. Here are the specs: Springfield 1911 G.I. model Hi-Cap mags(14 rd.)Color is black on black.

that is not the standard GI. Looks like the wide body double stack. known for breakages.
springfield usually doesn't care about who bought it for warranties, but it does say first owner. For a regular single stack gi, that is a pretty good price. For a double stack, I don't know, but it will not be the classic 1911 you are thinking of. |

Just saw it on SA's website. That sucks. I want the classic single stack 1911. The gun is also black on black... double negative. |
