I know they are cast but for 89 dollars is it worth it for a guy that is trying to take on a first 1911 build?

4 frames built, 4 frames left. Haven't had any problems so far. It's RIA stuff, which means its the same as STI builds their entry level gun on. No one complains about those companies much.

maybe a dumb question but have u done a bobtail on any of them? i wanna build a 1911 from nothing but I wanna bob my everyday gun I just cant bring my self to do it with out pracicing on somthing

Bobtailing is probably going to be the next skill I learn. The last one I did I cut for a Wilson beavertail and that was rather easy (though time consuming) with the right tools.

sarcos website takes a minute to find them but if you search rock island they will come up
