So is the Blackhawk Nighthawk a good gun instead of the Sig? Or should I be looking at a Higher Doller Weapon? Can't really compare a Nighthawk pistol to a Sig 1911. Same for any Colt 1911's you have on order. The fit/finish of a Nighthawk or equivalent is well beyond what can be offered of a typical Colt/Sig for what they cost. If you are new to 1911's, you might want to stick with something a little less pricey until you decide that 1911's are the pistols for you. |

Nice choice, that will be a nice clean 1911. Post pics when you get it home. Will do guys. And to the guy just getting into 1911's: Get those Colts and forget about the Sigs. Shoot them and love them for what they will be. Learn how they work. Ask questions here. Listen to the regulars here like SGB. They know what they are doing. Take them apart and learn the parts. Shoot them, scratch them, drop them, shoot them some more until they fail, then find out why. USE them. Take them apart some more and really learn about your gun and how it works. After you have done this enough, and you'll know when it's enough, THEN go buy a custom of your choice. By then you'll know all about the different options and what each different brand can and cannot do for you. Only then can you really appreciate a high end 1911 like a Wilson or Brown or Nighthawk, etc. etc. 1911's are like nothing else. |

Congrats OP! Be prepared for longer than 12 weeks though, I was quoted 8 and I'm going on 12 right now. Be sure to post some pics when your weapon arrives. You know what's crazy, is that when they built my GRP Recon last year it only took 5-6 weeks. They must be getting busy, which is always a good thing, unless it means less attention to detail.... |
