Hi guys thought i would share with you my first and im sure not the last 1911 (hopefully getting a Kimber this month) This thing is a tank and i cant wait to shoot it makes my glocks feel like toys. Here is the info or what my new found friend that i got it form told me about it. made by Colts in 1919, and re-arsenaled (upgraded to 1911A1 standards) by the Gov't with a Remington Rand slide, arched mainspring Hsg, 1911A1 grip safety, and parkerized for WWII. I figured i would use his description cause i dont know much about it .

Not to be too nosy, but what should one expect to pay for such a "re-arsenaled" old school 1911 Colt?? I might like to gets me one of those.........

I got this in a trade so i dont know for sure what these are worth. Ive looked on gun broker and ive seen them going from 3,000 new in box and all the ones ive seen used are about 1,000 to 1,300. But im not sure exactly what the worth of this one would be. Any experts feel free to chime in.

1911 forum

Post your pics in the USGI section, & I'm sure you will get the straight skinny...

I would say $650 or so, but re-arsenals have been going up, if they check out....

Reminds me of my first 1911a1, also a Remington Rand.
At the time, I was just a kid working part time in a gun store, and a friend of mine (a former US Army armorer) asked to look at it. I let him, and then went to wait on a customer. When I returned, he had totally disassembled it and laid it out. (Not one piece of metal or screw was touching another, except for the front and rear sights which he'd left on the slide.) Then he said, "See, ya, later," and walked out.  He returned about five minutes later, and taught me how to reassemble it.

Thanks for sharing the photo.

If you've got a mixmaster, count yourself lucky.   You can shoot it and not feel too guilty about it.
