Had a gentlemen from a local (to me) forum that acquired a Kimber Target II in a trade that found upon doing a function check that the hammer was following the slide.
Looks like bubba done struck again...................................

Fortunately for him I had a spare Kimber take off Hammer and sear and he's up an gunning again.

Nice! That could've come out so much better if he'd of only used a Dremel

Maybe the bubba watched the nutnfancy video when Terry G. hacked on a Taurus 1911 and thought it would be easy.

Everybody knows all you gotta do is stone the sear.

I've been holding onto this photo for a while.   I was doing some other work on this fellow's gun and after reassembling and function testing,  noticed the hammer was following.   This is a closeup of the sear nose:

Fortunately the hammer hooks were in better shape.

BINGO.  Usually in a misguided attempt at "polishing" something... like feed ramps, sear noses, hammer hooks, et cetera.

I knew this d-bag a while ago whose dad owned a shop. He would do "trigger jobs" to BNIB guns by polishing all of the sear surfaces with a Dremel till they were a mirror. I have no idea how many guns he fucked up like that but he woulnd't listen to me when I told him not to do it anymore.
