I purchased a Nighthawk single sided thumb safety to replace an ambi safety on my 9mm Nighthawk GRP.  When I try installing it, I can't get it to push all the way in against the frame (there's 1/16" or so gap between the frame and the safety).  I also tried it on my Springfield 45 with the same results.

I assumed this would be an easy swap.  Is there some magical trick to get it to go all the way in, or is the case where it might need to be hand fit by someone who knows more than I do?

it's not a drop-in part, you will need to fit it.

HANDFIT PART. Some work with a file in the right place and it will drop right in. to removed it will not work.
