i find a deal on DW valor, anyone has it and how you like it?
and it compare to other 1911? |

It may have some teething problems or it may not.
Regardless, still one of the nicer production guns out there & DW will take care of you. Sometimes possibly with a little attitude but that will depend on the e-mail you send I may have been a bit of a smartass.
If you can, hold up a valor next to an ed brown executive elite.....yes there is a difference but is it a $1000 diff??? up to you. In the last couple months I have seen NEW Valors, a les baer & a nighthawk all have problems that required a trip back to the manufacturer. Simple stuff but still irritating on an expensive handgun. |

Me too, I admit. But damn...it's frustrating. |

My DW V SS has been flawless for 1500+ rounds. I am only shooting Winchester and Federal ammo like most 1911 co.s recommend. Feeds HP's from Win and Fed very well.
I pitched the factory mags. I only use Wilson and Tripp mags. I will get a Tripp follower and spring kit for these mags. The Stainless finish marks easy. But I ride my guns really hard. I plan to get it hardhatted black anyway. The 2010 DW V thumb safety is the best I've ever seen. Hopefully they be available aftermarket when demand slows down. Th raised 25lpi checkering is awesome, very grippy, but will hurt after extended shooting sessions without a break. Ed Brown grip safety. No MIM, every part in this gun looks beefy. I replaced the very nice VZ slim grips with thick Sarges grips, much more comfortable with those. You have to use thicker oil. Fp10 ( I think that's what comes with it.) or 15w40. If you use CLP your slide will seize up. These are tight 1911's, they need lube. My slide has no play. Sights on the 2010 are Heinie Ledge with Trijicon. Best night sights I've ever seen. My DW V's trigger pull is exactly 4 pounds. I used the water bucket and digi scale method. My Kimber is 6 pounds. Overall mine is on par with any good 1911 I've ever seen. I'm going to replace the night sights with Warren Tactical Sevigny Comp sights then get it Hardhatted (similar to melonite) black. After those slight mods, I wouldn't trade this 1911 for any 1911, even Wilson. It's not often I come across such a flawless 1911. I may have to buy another before DW's prices go up again, or worse, they go back to production quality levels. |

Be careful with the Trip Mags in the DW. They smack the ejector in mine.... Not a big deal if loading gently but slamming them in during mag changes is notoptimal.
Wilsons do not do this not do the checkmate mags. Not caring for the factory checkmates anymore due to the follower. Going to order replacements from wilson. |
I may have been a bit of a smartass.
