Got my first 1911 yesterday. Must say, I'm hooked. I love this thing. Had it about an hour and ended up sending a scratch all the way down the left side of the slide http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad275/blakdak007/SDC11141.jpg Quoted:
Nice, post back on how the hollowpoints feed. Mine does not like hollowpoints. Ok so i put jhp's thru all of the mags, i have 2 colt 7 rounders, one 7 that i don't know the make, it came with the gun so i'm guessing its whatever RIA uses, and an ACT-MAG PSI 8 that also came with the gun(it's in the magwell in the picture)..all the 7's performed flawlessly and would fire as fast as i could squeeze them off so no problem there. the 8 seemed to have a malfunction every other round or so, usually FTF. I've never heard of the act-mag's but from my recent experience, probably won't buy any, anybody else had any problems with these? You scratched a 1911...Dam now you have a justified reason to get another one. These are thing's you need to remember to tell the Old Lady

If all the other mags fed properly, then I would just stop using the ACT mag and stock up on the ones that work 100%
I don't care for the ACT mags, always been a Wilson fan. Plus mine has a magwell that I sometimes put on, and the ACT mags will not work with my EdBrown magwell. Thanks for the update. |

You scratched it ... well time to learn refinishing ... and thus it starts. That's kind of how it started with me on my first one .. "hhmmm I bet I could fix that finish problem" .. next thing you know your just finishing up your 2 hour marathon barrel bushing fit and wondering how the heck this all started ..."oh ya ... the finish problem"
