I wanted to get some night sights put on my pistol before a trip, and I don't know when I'll be able to get to the range to shoot up a target verifying POA. I know it shoots to point of aim at 15yds, but I don't have the tools to mill the front for a dovetail. Does anyone on the forum install night sights? I'd like to avoid the lag in orders that most smiths have.

I know what you're saying. I just thought with all the customizing that members here do, and with the select machining expertise exhibited by some members, surely someone installs night sights. I'm not so concerned with cheap as much as fast and good. And I'd much rather support someone here starting their business or supporting the site and their family than some custom shop where I become anonymous and lost in the shuffle.

What kind of timeline are you looking at?

Springfield Custom Shop is supposed to have pretty quick turn around times, depending on the job.

I just sent my slide out to Springfield Armory for night sights last week, They called yesterday and the slide is done and on it's way home. Friendly bunch of folks in the shop. Real pleasure to work with.

Email Heinie, they can do the install for you with just your slide, door to door can be in one week.  Plus, when it is all said and done you will have the finest carry sights available.

Send the entire 1911 to Novak and they will sight it in. If the slide only is sent, accuracy will not be guaranteed.

that will add quite a bit of money
from novak's site

sights + installation fee + sight in fee($35) +  Return shipping ($60-$80)

add the $50+ for the OP to ship overnight and total shipping charge is running at least $110
