My Sig 229 SCT .40 w/ CT grips ( nightstand gun) and ket a Kimber Ultra Carry to ccw the Kimber, it would be OWB due to an injury from rodeo. I front pocket carry a S&W 340 .357 now but at a distance i dont like my groups my first time shooting at 8 years old was a Colt 1911, I have a Colt LWT Commander that I shoot beautifully tight groups 1911's are made for me     Again after a trip to the range I am annoyed at myself w/ the Jframe, I have a family to protect so I want the best but whem I IWB my leg goes numb and end up w pain and can barley walk for a week (siatic nerve + tilted tailbone= no IWB now that I am older) lots of ALIVE to get me back on track

My opinion, No. However, it depends on what you plan on doing with and what the theory behind doing CCW for you is.  When I was able to carry a gun (I'm an ex-cop), it was strictly for self defense.  I wasn't going to save the world, or take on a group of people so a S&W M36 worked for me.

Good luck in your decision making, I'm sure you'll make the correct decision based on what you want and need.

just a guy that want to get my kids to safty if any thing were to happen, self defense only, biggest fear is trapped in a mall/store w an active shooter, just not sure what to do,  pocket carry has worked for me for 2+ years now,  but i shoot so well w a 1911, I dont ever expect to pull my gun(I hope and pray I dont ever have to) just get bit by a bug for a kimber every now and then,  because of how well i shoot w my Colt (not the best just dont feel embarrassed at my groups w my Colt)......maybe wait for taxes???? or maybe a X-mas bonus from work hahaha yeah one can hope right

First off, sentences require things like punctuation and grammer. (Yes, I am a grammer nazi).

Second, CCW is a lifestyle change.  If you are unable to carry a pistol in IWB holsters there are other ways to conceal and carry full size or compact 1911 pistols but they will require you to change the way you dress.

My dad hated IWB holsters for a long time and simply ran a Galco OWB holster with a Beretta 92.  Before that he had under the arm pit holster (don't remember what they are called, they way people used to carry pistols) that he used for years with a Walther PPK.  He was forced to wear a sport coat or fleece vest and he dealt with it.  If the 1911 is for you but IWB isn't, look into other holster options and consider changing your wardrobe to facilitate that.

It's difficult for us to give you advice on a weapon you're using to protect your family, especially one that asks if you should ditch one model for another.

Generally speaking, my suggestion is to keep the weapon that, in a time of high stress, you can best manipulate and accurately deliver rounds on target.  That would be my primary criteria. Secondary, would be concealability, comfort, caliber, capacity, etc...
