It's a US first aid box. You can find them at gun shows and surplus stores for about $5 to $10.
They are water tight and it's good for car carry,

I've had a Bulgarian Mak for about 10 years, but recently found a decent East German (1964) for $270 so I thought I'd post some pics of the two.

Here's the new East German. Came with the thumb-rest grip. You can see the roughest spot on it near the muzzle in this pic. The rest is fairly clean other than some holster wear you'll see in the next pic.

The other side with the East German circle-diamond and K100. Plus, some bonus muzzle wear.

Swapped the grips to a pair of E. German ones I had laying around. Came with one magazine with the hump in it.

Here's my 1985 Bulgarian.

I was losing the light fast, but got them both together for one last shot.

My new '83 Circle 10.  It has a few finish dings, but otherwise has very little wear.

A recent acquisition, a Hungarian SMC-918. While not a "Makarov" in the truest form, it atleast fires 9x18 Mak and was made in Hungary. Picked it up for $150, still in the box. May have been fired once or twice.

Now I want a Bulgarian Makarov.

Here's six pieces of garbage.  Things keep malfunctioning hence they are in my shop to be looked at.  Guns belong to some ANA here on the compound and I think they were made just across the border in Pakistan and not up in the Kyber Pass. Only markings are on the slide and they aren't straight and dimpled the slide.  Frames are sterile without any numbers or markings.  Caliber is 9x18mm.  Magazines have a electro-penciled SN on them.  Blueing is good but rough on the inside.  Soft steels are used.

One in bottom left without grips on has a soft sear.  When my partner pulled the slide back to chamber a round it fired and slide flew off the front.  Its barrel pin is drifting out also.  Another gun fired a 3 round burst when chambering and fingers off triggers.

Went back out and fired four of the six.  Two are unrepairable.  One discharged as the safety was taken off.  Lots of DA light strikes not firing the guns.  Ammo was Russian Wolf.  Don't trust your life to these countries pistols.

This thread needed an update.  I was cleaning and reorganizing the safe this afternoon.  Figured I'd snap a family shot of my "combloc" handguns while I had them out.  Excuse the Yugo Tokarev.  I know it's not 9x18 but I didn't want it to feel lonely lol.

@czakp64

Posted the image for you.  Next time look above the typing box.  Theres an icon for inserting images.  BTW, like what I see.  I might try one of your P63 grips to take the bite out and also interested in maybe trying your new MAK grips.  Being a lefty shooter that lanyard ring at the bottom sucks with the issue grips.

Picked up these two Miltex SE 9x18's over the past few months. I remember seeing these back in the late 90's when I was trying to not starve to death in college. Decided to hunt down a HC example but, found a clean blued model first.

Left them with my replacements.  Couldn't bring anything home.  ATF denied my Form 6s (Importation License) for a Side by Side 20ga and 1941 ByF P08 Luger.  Had a Colt 1911 frame that was once US property, State Dept give me the release for surplus property but ATF again denied the Form 6.  Can't say I'm not trying.  There's about a dozen countries that are prohibited from importation in the CTR.  Course they are all countries we're engaged in.
