The most recent Luger were the stainless steel guns built for Mitchell and Stoeger. Mitchell called their's the "American Eagle". It was discontinued in 1994. Stoeger called their's the Luger, and produced them up until the late 90's early 2000's. Since Stoeger bought the rights to the name "Luger" back before WWII, no else is allowed to use it. So most post WWII makers used the "Parabelleum" name. The last really great Luger's were the Mauser-made guns imported by Interarms in the 1970's. |
| Aimco is the current producer of the stainless P.08's. Actually they were the producers of the previous ones as well. They are currently not available (one man shop). The Original Mauser lugers are quite pricey now (remember they are over 30 years old now) for a NIB gun. Shooters can be had in the $600-$700 range. |
