I am considering one to go with my P14, but can't find any reference to them on Para's website, or anywhere else. Have they been discontinued? I may buy used anyway, since I prefer the more traditional GI appearance of the older models.
If they have, in fact, been discontinued, will parts support be a problem? I presume the trigger, magazine release and so forth are common with the P14. Are there any parts that are unique to the P13? If so, could they be obtained by modifying standard parts? Finally, what about magazines? I would like to get at least 4 or 5 actual P13 magazines, as opposed to more P14's, but all I can find are 10-rounders. |

Barrel, slide, magazine and grips are unique to the p13. The LTC uses the same slide, but is a single stack frame... I was under the impression that the barrel and slide were compatible with Commander-sized pistols. Is that not the case? What about internal parts, such as the mainspring? |
| While it is a commander sized slide, Paras use a ramped barrel (I think it is the same as a Nowlin's ramp) and a different extractor (at least on the PXT models). Trigger is unique to Para wide body, but most of the other internal parts (including mainspring) are standard 1911. |
