| I was wondering if anybody can steer me in the direction of where I can buy a tac 4, how do people who have tac 4's like them, and how much are they going for nowaday's. |

you might want to consider the Para Colonel LDA... it's the same gun as the tac four, but the mags are 14 instead of 13 round, and it has the standard beavertail instead of the chopped one on the tac 4. The finish is different, but it's also several hundred cheaper. I have a Colonel that i had refinished in Electroless Nickel... i paid 450 for it with a LOT of ammo, and all the original packaging. It is the best gun i own.
here is the Colonel http://www.impactguns.com/store/SS-13631.html if you are set on the Tac Four, you can usually find em used for under 800... below are a few listings i found http://www.okshooters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54207 Gun broker: Buy Now under $600 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=136202357 |
I have a tac 4 the hammer and thumb safety have turned black . The way I understand it they are some funky metal . I also have spots of rust here and there. I would not buy one again today mine was a Christmas gift and was around $650. It is a heavy gun to some with 13+1 rounds I don't mind but some do. I would like to get a hold of para and see what can be done about the parts changing color and the rust spots. I like to carry my SS .45 USPc I trust it more never a problem ever. |

I had the same problem with my CCW on the exact same spots. You probably know this already, but it's from the sweat and humidity your body gives off while carrying. There is a easy fix to this which you can do yourself. I used a Dremel with a buffing wheel. Get yourself some Flitz metal polish and a soft cloth or even a paper towel. Shake up your metal polish and apply a small amount to your rag and rub it into the black spots. Keep at it and it will eventually come out. Like a said, a Dremel is best for this jobbecause it's extremely quick and really gets in the metal pores. After your done let some CLP soak on those parts for as long as possible and then wipe clean. Volia, good as new |
