I was at a funshop last week... just goofin off really and I happened to notice a nice HK UPS 9mm in the case... I asked to look at it for grins and giggles... and it was a double action only ...

the tag on it was only 499.00 which seemed cheap for a HK... I asked the guy about it, and what was wrong with it.. he did not seem to know much more than how to ring the register...

I hadn't seen one in DAO like that... but then my experience in HKs is limited... it just seemed awfully cheap for an HK.

Are these the "red headed step child" of the HK line or something?  Why was it so cheap?  It was a strong double action much like a revolver in trigger weight... Im guessing that this model is probably not in high demand which accounts for the low price tag???

Looks like this one was a varient 5... thanks for the link!

But that still leaves my quesion why was it so cheap?  If it was just a stumble on a good deal I may go back and put the thing in Lay-Away.

Double and triple check it for wear...anywhere theres moving parts, youll notice wear....primarily on top of chamber/breech where it wears on the slide. Brand new it shouldn't have any visible wear....after around 500 rounds, it will have a wear line.

499.99 is WAY cheap for a brand new USP. Even for a used pistol, it aint bad. If I were you, id hold out for a .45....USP 9s, although still a great pistol, arent nearly as "right" as the .45s....dimension wise they are still a little big compared to Sig 226s, M9s...etc...

DAO makes it unsellable at normal prices.

The HK DA trigger is long and heavy. Its almost as bad as a beretta 92.

If its new and if its priced that way due to the DAO setup, no problem.
Just buy it at that great price and have the FCG changed to whatever varient you want.
Thats one of the great things about the USP line.
Not sure on cost and I think you should have a HK armorer do the work, but I'm pretty sure it would still be a lot cheaper than buying one in a more sellable varient.

But unlike the Burrito, you can not swap out a $0.15 spring and have a better trigger.
