What's the price supposed to be for these? Vice in 10mm was quoted to me @ $1199.00. 55 bucks for extra mags. ...and so ends my interest in the Vltor Bren Ten. That was short lived. Why? Is $1200 too much? I think it is a fair price, the real Brens are $2,500 and you cannot even shoot them, and 10mm 1911s are not cheap. Colt Deltas are around $1,200 Dan Wesson 1911s are around $900 So $1,200 for a re-engineered handgun that was only sold for a few years in the 1980s built from the ground up with modern day machining is not a bad price for $1,200 I paid over $600 for a CZ97B 45 which was my poorman's version of a Bren Ten, and I will pay $1,200 for a Viced 45 Fortis. |

I can see how the VLTOR is a good deal for hard-core Bren enthusiasts, but when it comes into getting into the "sexy 10mm" market, I think the Delta Elite is far and away the better choice. It's somewhere around $200-$400 cheaper, magazines (including premium aftermarkets) are $15-$30 cheaper, and it shares common parts with 1911s. Don't get me wrong, I don't think VLTOR is out of line on their prices (especially when they have to recoup for tooling & startup). I also think their efforts should be rewarded with business. The problem for me is that I can't afford to buy and build up mag piles for both platforms, and for those who can only afford one, the Delta is the wiser choice in terms of cost effectiveness. |

This is a logical, well thought out reply. My only question is.................. What about leather? Is there a stock IWB holster out there that would fit it? |

Galco can make one, as well as Blocker. |

I really think it is one of the coolest 10mm's out there, but to me It's just too much for a oversized CZ. I also like to tinker with my guns so a Delta Elite or G20 would have more aftermarket and accessories. Plus when I have to figure in an extra $200 just to buy a few mags... I would like to see what the "real" price of these things ends up being. Some manufacturers leave a good deal of wiggle room in the MSRP. This gun would look a lot more appealing at $900 than it does at $1200. |

The original Norma 10mm had some pretty impressive numbers, ie it very powerful for it's size. The 10mm was a high-pressure round, and any guns that shoot it must be especially engineered to handle the greater forces.
I will wait to see if the new Vltor guns got enough R&D. Making a gun in this small package for such a powerful round is not an easy engineering feat. |

Glock 20, Glock 29, S&W 1006, 1066, 1076, 1086, Colt Delta Elite, etc, etc. It's shouldn't be that hard, they're using a proven design (CZ-75) and modern materials and manufacturing processes. |

21 May 2010 Vltor Weapon Systems 3735 N. ROMERO RD TUCSON, ARIZONA 85705 P.520.408.1944 F.520.293.8807 WWW.VLTOR.COM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Eric Kincel Telephone: 520-408-1944 Email: [email protected] VLTOR WEAPON SYSTEMS ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT THE RELEASE OF THE BREN TEN PISTOL HAS BEEN DELAYED. Tucson, AZ, 21 May - A spokesman from Vltor Weapons stated that the reengineering of the Bren Ten has provided Vltor Weapons with the opportunity to update and improve the original design, but that the pistol is not ready for release. He went on to say that while the exterior appearance of the Vltor Bren Ten is identical to the original, the internal mechanics have been completely redesigned. “This is about making the Bren Ten the best it can be” the spokesman said, “the recent decision to hold the Bren back was so that we could make a couple of improvements to the pistol… these are small changes, but make it a much better product.” When asked when the Vltor Bren Ten will be released, he stated that “it will be a few more months.” He later stated that the Bren Ten will be on the shelves before the end of the year. Abrams Airborne Manufacturing, Inc. is a leading aerospace manufacturing facility, located in Tucson, Arizona. Vltor Weapon Systems is part of Abrams Airborne. More information on these companies is available at: www.abrams.com or www.vltor.com The exclusive distribution of the Bren Ten is being handled by Sporting Products of Florida – for more information, please contact Adam Trieschmann at 561-623-5970 or www.sportingproducts.com

Dang it. VLTOR did really good for a long time with not setting a specific date for this exact reason.... and then they release a date right before release..... AND THEN THEY MOVE IT BACK!!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!! Scurvy dahgs!!!! Well, as long as they make the pistol as close to 100 percent out of the box....then they are proably doing the right thing.... The problem with is, like the original Bren Ten and the old .44 Auto Mag or the Masada ( snicker ) .....you wait too long and you'll alientate the hell out of your shooter base. |

Sigh....I am soooo sorry, man. Well, try to look at the bright side. Let's assume ( for the sake of argument ) that VLTOR is truly trying to make a perfect, out the door product. Let's further assume that when you get your 3 ( THREE????) pistols that they all work 100 percent and hit and feel exactly as they should for you. If that is the case, it will be worth it. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!! |
