I've had one about a year as well. I sold my Glock 36 because I have the PPS now. This thing is 9 / 10th of an inch thick. In the summer I carry it in the pocket of cargo shorts with ease. Accurate and handles recoil better than I thought it would.
People will gripe about the mag release but honestly I've adapted very well to it. For one thing, in a holster the mag release is locked in, no accitental mag releases It is my number one carry now. |

I've been debating between PPS and the G36 for a new CCW...I am a Glock fan so the 36 seemed to win, but I like the slightly thinner profile and 9mm of the PPS. If only Glock would make a single stack 9mm. How is the front sight mounted on the pps? Are there aftermarket sight options available? |

My rangemaster has one and swears by it. Says it's the most reliable compact he's ever had. I ended up going with the EMP. |
| i owned a kahr p9 for about 2 days and sold it. i have since picked up a pps9 and love it! i have had zero malfunctions with a variety of ammo. wwb shoots well in mine too. make sure you get a serial number that starts with AC or AD. the AB ones had a spring problem. you will love it. i do! |

There is just enough length in the grip, and I can get my girlish hands wrapped firmly around it, I can handle the recoil of the 40 much better with the PPS than the G26 or G27. |

My PPS is an AB series (though possibly late in the series) and it hasn't had any issues. Maybe I got lucky. No spring issues or ejection issues when clearing the chamber of a live round (.40 had a problem of getting hung up on the ejection port). Mine has fed every type of ammo I've given it. I even put some hot Double Tap loads through it, impressive fireballs but impractical. I'm glad I got one when they still came with 2 mags. |

I would like to try before I buy but it just is not an option. I dont really like the trigger on the mk9 or the way it point and shoots and I dont like the XS big dot night sights on it either. Visit the hometown section and see if a fellow member will let you try out his |

I looked at one but the mag release killed the deal. In a bad situation muscle memory would prevent a reload. I thought the same but rented it at the range and using my middle finger on my weapon hand is really easy to do. Just train with it a lot and it becomes second nature. Mine should be here next week. I may end up selling it and getting a PF9, we'll see. |

Id really like one as my carry pistol but that mag release SUCKS! +1... my index finger is too long to tip down the trigger guard to drop the mag. Also, the gap between the grip and magazine extension pinched the hell out of my pinky when I was fondling it in the store. |

I think the PPS is by far the best compact pistol on the market. I carry one daily, shoot it weekly, and have found it to be utterly reliable and accurate. I had the AB version, and it needed a slide stop spring replacement. S&W covers it under warranty.
I have found that i prefer the newer mag release over the thumb button design. It gets my trigger finger off the trigger and i don't have to shift the gun in my hand to hit the thumb button. i regularly shoot glocks and the PPS in IDPA style matches and have never had a moment of confusion using the PPS release. |

The PPS is an awesome pistol. I love mine, its such a great carry gun. Easy shooter and very accurate.
As far is the mag release, using your middle finger it can be much quicker than a traditional release. I got mine before shooting one and dont regret it for a second |

Why did you dump the P9 and what have you gained with the PPS? |

I have owned my PPS 2 weeks. The mag release takes getting used to, but i find it easier and faster than tradition types. This is the most accurate pistol i own. I am very happy. see my thread: thread
there is a free mag give away if you buy one now to may. Quoted:.
............... I may end up selling it and getting a PF9, we'll see. No you won't. You'll like the PPS. The PF9 is smaller, but the PPS has a much better trigger and shoots a hell of a lot better. I like the PF9, but there is no comparison. |
