How close is the Ruger SR9 to Glock dimensions?  I've got an SR9 and am looking for a holster that will work with a Insight M3 light attached.  From what I can tell, the majority of holsters that accept accessories are made for 1911s, Glocks, and Sigs, or are the one size fits all (but none well) type.  It would greatly simplify things if a model of Glock was close enough in dimensions to an SR9 that one of the Glock holsters would fit and work fairly well.

Thanks in advance for any input.

how handy are you?

there is a thread around here or survival forum, that tells how to make your own KYDEX holsters.

seems simple enough, I bought the material and am going to try it.

enough for 4 holsters ran me 35 bucks. from knifekits.com

ETA glock and XD's "look" the same but won't , swap, in kydex holsters.

you try to get one that's close and then heat it up in n oven to soften up the plastic to see if you can reform it maybe.

OP, no holster that's designed for any Glock is gonna work for the SR9.  They're too different in shape.

Thanks.  That was what I had figured, but I thought I had heard or read somewhere about someone using something like a G17 holster or something, but I'm not one of those who believe's that everything on the internet is the truth....especially if it comes out of Al Gore's mouth as I'm at the NC coast and got snow this weekend!

Thanks...I've got some Kydex and parts on the way for my first attempt at a holster.  May start with making one for my LCP before I try the SR9 with the light on it.  I've read the light can make it more difficult, and I can believe it.
