Just picked up a Scherer 3.5 connector for my Glock 26. Should I have ordered any lighter springs as well?

Not necessarily. The 3.5 connector can be used as a replacement for the factory connector all by itself. See how you like that before you go any lighter.

Competition trigger springs can be added to further reduce the pull weight. A lot of people will recommend the .25 trigger job to smooth things out a bit. You can also get into reduced power striker/firing pin springs with the caveat that you must test you pistol and make sure you are getting reliable ignition.

All this on a G26, which I assume you are using as a CCW gun, may be ill advised. I like my G26 with the factory connector and spring.

I have  3.5 connectors paired to NY-1 springs on all my Glocks.
I like the trigger set up this way, some don't, I do.

I'm borrowing an NY-1 from a friend soon to try this often recommended set-up. I'm looking forward to seeing how it feels.

Depends on what you're after.

G26...............sounds like a "carry gun".  If that's the case, I'd say no, don't go with "lighter springs".

NEVER use a lighter Firing Pin spring, for example, in a carry gun.  The mere possibility of light primer strikes makes that a no-go in my book.

A HEAVIER Trigger Spring (6lb.) can be used in conjunction with the "-" Connector you've got, to give you a lighter, truly ~3.5 lb.pull.  The "-" Connector, as it is, will yield a ~4.5 lb. pull.

I myself use NY1 Trigger Springs w/ stock 5.5 Connectors in my carry Glocks.  Some good friends of mine, who "know", DO carry with "-" Connectors in..............it's their choice.

But I wouldn't recommend going any lower in trigger pull than the "-" Connector yields.

The connector itself will lower the trigger pull somewhat. You don't need to screw with anything else on the weapon...and I would strongly advise against screwing with anything else on the weapon other than the sights.
