| The other night on American Rifle TV (I think) they were visiting the Chater Arms plant and talking about the guns - supposedly they are much better than they were in the recent past. I've always wanted a Bulldog (for some reason) - any opinions on the new guns from these folks? |

I called the number listed on their web site and talked with them about their 40 S&W pistol. The lady I spoke with said they do plan on making a 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP with release date April/May time frame. I would like the one in 40 S&W. T Thanks for the info. 40S&W would also be a great gun, I can't wait till they come out. |

They said the delay had to do with the patent. |

Back in the day (late 70’s) I wanted a Bulldog Pug but was distracted by a 1911 instead. Plus 44 special never really appealed to me. The bad years of failed iterations of Charter further turned me off to what was essentially a low budget, ugly revolver that now seemed to lack the only redeeming features the brand once had; Reliability and Quality control.
Fast forward to today, I am liking what I see and hope the QC is back up to par. While not a “pretty” gun the new front sight and shrouded barrel looks better than the old ones did and should prove to be no snag, +1. Stainless steel, +2. Future 45 ACP chambering, +100! I hope they get these rimless extractor guns into production soon. Though it would have been easier/cheaper to come up with a full moon clip to hold the 5 rounds. Plus moon clips would provide for quicker reloads, oh well. Hopefully said proprietary extractor guns will not come with an associated price increase. I think this would make an ideal cost effective truck gun as well as being a nice size for CCW as well. This could well end my search for a beater M1917 for the former option or a short barreled(no lock) 625 for the latter. Wpns Man |

It should be fairly easy to remove the goofy detents and machine the back of the cylinder to accept moon clips. |

The question is whether the holes on the Charter will line up to the holes on other older 5-shot .45s. Now, I wouldn't bother. But It ought to be doable for folks who are into that sort of thing. |
