if i do sell my 1911s i am going to buy 1 gun, mags, ammo , holsters and light.
which of these .45s would you suggest for someone with small hands as their only handgun for hd/sd/range/classes/matches/shtf? must be reliable . i can only have 10 rd mags unless prebans are around.
M&P45
HK45
SIGP220
G21SF (is this too fat for small hands?)
state why you choose the pistol you choose. all pistols are equally grabbing my attention and all seem extremely reliable. the M&P might be winning alittle since its made in the USA and is inexpensive with interchangeable backstraps but all contenders are very tempting.

I guess I'd go with an H&K USP. Accuracy, reliability, and capacity. Of course there's the fucking light rail which is not standard.

On second thought, if the G21SF fits your hands, I'd go with that for all of the above reasons, plus it has a normal light rail. I have medium-sized hands and the regular G21 fits them just fine; I reckon the SF would be perfect for your girly paws.

I'd suggest that you try to shoot each of them and see what feels and shoots best for you.

All the handguns you've listed are top quality, imo.

Please let us know what you decide to do. Good luck!

They are girly. hate that. i was looking at the hk45 not usp 45. usp 45 is definitely too big as is the regular g21

Sig P220

I can shoot it better than any of my other 45s and I have two 1911s.
They are easy to clean, made well and there is a lot of options for modifying it to fit your needs.
You will enjoy it for sure!

If you truly think getting rid of 1911's is agood idea, I guess telling you to keep them might not be appreciated or relevent.

I'd take the M&P45 out of the group, but you won't go wrong with any.

I say go with the M&P.  I too am cursed with small hands and with the small grip insert it is pretty close to a 1911.  That being said i still prefer the 1911.

The M&P felt really nice when I held one... If I was stuck with 10 round mags, that would be my choice..

Just saying.

Test as many of them out as you can first.  I like S&W's and Glock myself, but you might not.

Personally, I'd skip the 220.  I had one and recently sold it.  Why?  It was a fantastic weapon.  I loved it.  But it was just too big for my hands.  I could shoot it well, but in order to get good direct trigger pull, I had to grip the gun in a slightly twisted grip.  Just my .02.  I'd look into the 21SF.  It's on my list as well.

I have had the Glock and the Sig I sold the Glock and still have the Sig.

The HK45 and HK45c are now being built in the USA at the new plant in Newington NH.

Out of the guns you have listed I would take the HK45. The gun is dead reliable and feels great in the hand. I also find it to be just as accurate as most semi-custom 1911's that I have shot including a few Nighthawks.  The only major issue with the HK45 IMO is that magazines are around $50 a piece.

is the M&P45 not as good as the HK45, G21SF or P220? ive never shot either gun and wont get the chance to. Long island doesnt have a gun shop with this option.
what if i introduced the G19 as another possibility? id only get one if i could find preban mags.

Out of what you listed, the HK45.

I dumped my USP 45 due to the grips alone. The HK45 is just a fantastic gun, really a great shooter and as for the rail? It holds my X300 just as it should. I don't need it to do anything else.

M&P or 220 SAO

I have both and the 220 SAO works fine with my small hands. The M&P works well too but I am still learning to shoot it well. Without being able to test either, I would go with the 220 SAO.

The USP is quite large in the grip, the HK 45 is much better, and come with interchangeable backstraps.

The Glocks are about the same as the USP, the short frame models are little different.
