I'm looking for something very specific. I want:
*9mm. *Stainless steel slide and frame. *Either: Manual thumb safety that sweeps down to the fire position, or no manual safety. So far I've identified the pistols below. Have I missed any? Kahr T9 Sig Sauer P229 Stainless Elite CZ75b Stainless |

Why limit yourself to stainless? Normal Sigs are blackened stainless steel. In my experience, glocks hold up well. I've had a Glock 19 that has been carried by myself or my wife almost continuosly for the last 12 years with little finish wear. I've put about 3k rounds through it as well. Mostly now it's in my wifes purse.
I have a Sig 229 in .40 cal, love it as a carry gun although it is sometimes uncomfortable to conceal. Also picked up a CZ-75b P01 in 9mm a few months ago. Love it. Fits the same holsters as the sig and glock, pretty much same size but feels better in my hand. and is probably a little slimmer. Feels as heavy as the Sig 40. Haven't ever owned a Kahr, although the ones I've handled have been slim and felt concealable. Picked up a sig SP2022 recently in 9, it's the same size as my other guns so familer to carry. Nice thing about used glocks and sigs like my .40 and my brand new 2022 is they often come with night sights, the CZ didn't and it was the most expensive of the guns I've bought recently. Any of the above would be a good gun in my opinion and range experience. |

I have Glocks, black and parked 1911's, and of course my *black* rifles. But now I want something shiny that is either concealable or fun at the range. Either will do. I don't want a .45 because I'm saving for an Ed Brown Kobra Carry in stainless, so this intermediate step will be in 9mm. |

For a German handfitted pistol that will shoot better than anything else look at the Allround at about 1300.00 . It will take the SCT grips with slight modify and the 20 round mags

He wants a stainless frame, too. |

I love my Glock 17, but if you insist on steel check out the 9mm "Baby Eagle"

SW 5946 has to be the most underated unsung 9mm pistols. It is extremely well made and durable, very reliable and while its DAO, the trigger pull is not long and very smooth and because of its weight it shoots VERY soft. I've seen many 5946's exceed 60,000 rds w/o breakage.
On the negative side is that its the heaviest 9mm pistol made. I carried one for a year and while I'm a fan of the gun its a bit heavy for CCW. The 229ST is also a very good choice. |
