All,
I own two 9mm guns. I have a G-17 and a S&W m&p 9mm compact.And feel that for puposes of CCL and all around SHTF what is the best all around caliber? Here is a couple questions I would like lots of input on..thanks in advance 1. 9mm 147 grain 0r...10mm.....0r 45ACP, what is the best, most availbale and all around effective? 2. 147g 9mm hollow point good CCL or SHTF round? Would you guys bet your lives on it? 3. 1911 or Glock??? |
Well here is what I can tell you. 10mm ammo is tighter than most and cost is higher plus not great for carry due to the power of the round it has a greater chance to pass though your perp and hit someone else. I think a 9mm great for back up but go with the old 45 for all around carry. I carried a Glock for years and was not much of a shot with it, I now have a Springfield 1911 and think it is much better. I have smaller hands as well and find it just feels better in my hand then the Glock did. Bottom line is going to be whatever gun you shoot best with is the one you should carry.

The best all around caliber for me is the 40S&W in 155RemingtonJHP, But I get the most use from a 9mm. If I want to shoot a 45 then its 1911 all the way. I would bet my life on any of the guns I own, 9, 40, 45, 10mm, 38, etc... Expand on your questions then you might get a better answer. |
