Recently I came into possession of what was supposed to have been a wilson 47D magazine. On closer inspeection, however, it is not. The follower is very slightly different, the feed lips are more like usgi than wilson, the spring is a piece of crap, and the base plate (stamped w/ wilson combat just like the real thing) is slightly different. The rails that the baseplate slide on are shorter. The mag body itself is roughly .050" shorter than a 47d. Needless to say, this thing doesen't feed. So, anyway, I'm wondering if someone is producing wilson knock-offs, and if that could be the reason some folks have trouble w/ wilson magazines? I'm going to have pictures taken ( I don't have a digicam) and post them. After I do that, I'd love feedback on the pictures, especially from those who have unreliable wilson mags. I'm probably going to contact wilson next, they certainly don't owe me a magazine, since this one was bought used, but I'm guessing they might like to know someone if ripping them off. OTOH, is is possible that this is an old magazine from wilson, or a prototype that accidentally made it out of the plant? The 47d is the only wilson mag I've ever used ( I own several), maybe this one is different? P.S., Moderator, if this doesen't get any response, could I have it moved to GD in 3 or 4 days? |
