i took my new 99 compact 40cal to the range today..

nice shooter..the trigger pull length is bizarre.

anyone know exactly why...

i put a post on the S&W forum about it..

What exactly is "bizzare" about it? I have a SW99 in .45acp & find nothing wrong with the trigger pull.

It's just a longer-than-normal trigger pull.  My Walther P99 (of which, the SW99 is a clone) is the same way.  It's definitely a different feel and takes some getting used to.

As a great advocate of my personal favorite pistol, the S&W 99/.40, I gotta say that the standard Wather/Smith&Wesson trigger system is for  guys who have been around the game long enough to shoot and chew gum at the same time.

I love the darn thing and want one of the S&W 99/9mm compacts badly.

i hear ya on the experience line of shooters and the ability to cope..with different gun styles. i have always been blessed with the ability to shoot well with ANY firearm..

alot of people just cant shoot handguns well.

i liked the compact MORE than i did the fulls size. it is sweet..it begs for the .45..offering.

i will admit that the fullsize is probably in the works..for the light riging..hehe
