| Trying to decide between the two. Can get both at about the same price. Was told the Sig had night sights (not sure of make) and the XDm did not. Looking at 9mm. I know the XDm has a higher capicity and has a match barrel and trigger. Don't know much about the Sig. What are the pros and cons of the two? |

SIG with night sights or XDm with higher capicity, match barrel and trigger. All you need to do to the XDm is put night sight's on. |

I would go with the Sig Sp 2022.
Just because it's plastic and affordable in no way does it mean it's sub par for Sigs. It's a great gun. The XDs I've handled didn't do much for me. They felt good in my hand but seemed flimsy....maybe. Just my impression of them. I think the big question for you is which action type you prefer. The Sig is a traditional DA/SA while the XD the same trigger pull each time. Not sure what they call thier action type. If at all possible (I know it's difficult) try each at a rental range before purchasing. |

While it's not the 2022 sig, I've been carrying the 229 on duty for three years. I personally own an XDM40 and very much prefer the XDM to the sig. For me it's much more accurate.
Besides the fact that we've had three sigs (out of 18) break on us. "To Hell and Back Reliability".....not in my experience. |
| I picked up a 2022 last week and have put maybe 100 rounds through it but i'm actually impressed at how easy it shoots and how accurate it is. it's polymer but it shoots, imo, like an all metal gun, it's weighted just right with good balance. i was hesitant to get it but am now glad i did and it's my HD gun with the hammer and decocker; I leave it loaded and decocked which I can't do with my XD. Don't feel comfortable leaving a loaded glock or XD around and it not be in my direct control. |
