Is it normal for the extractor , the black indicated item to be loose in the frame, it moves a hair and is not tight as in a 1911.
It has been like this forever, I am just getting around to asking about it ??

No, it should be firm, IIRC. It may need to be restaked?

I just checked both my HP's and they do have a very small amount of up & down movement.

There's nothing that can't be fixed w/o a big enough hammer!

You guys are correct- some play is normal on the HP ejector. It is retained on the axis of the safety/hammer pivot and that crosspin. Unlike the 1911 where it's attatched directly into the frame. The HP system is probably better, stronger and if you do have to replace it it's not a gunsmith job like on the 1911.
