I am looking to get a new carry weapon. I am looking for an autoloader in 40sw. I am looking for something that is thin and compact. I have an XD40 service now and it is just way to big. I have tried several holsters including the Crossbreed Supertuck and still havent found it comfortable to carry. Im looking for 40sw because I have plenty of carry ammo for it. Looking foward to see what you all recommend.

XD40 compact isn't any thinner but might be easier to conceal and uses same holster, will take service mags for reloads. I carry a 23 or 27 w/ no problem, don't mind the thickness but if you want thin, Kahr P40 is the one.

Not enough details.  A round butt Taurus or S&W meets the thin and compact requirement.  For most folks, there isn't a more comfortable and concealable firearm in a decent power range on the market.  For an autoloader I would suggest a Glock 26 or 27.

The first rule of winning a gunfight is to have a gun.  The second rule is to have a backup plan.

Glock 23 is an excellent pistol.  I highly recommend it.  Mine has served me well.

Carried in a Galco Combatmaster (OWB) or a Kramer #3 (IWB) it's very concealable.

Try a M&P 40c or something by Kahr or a Walther PPS if you want a single stack.

Based on your current selection of an XD, I would assume you aren't a Glock man.  Also I don't think you want to break the bank with a well tuned 1911, or even a stock Sig or H&K.  Seems you like bang for the buck but need a reliable carry gun, in .40, lightweight, decent round count and good accuracy.  Weapons to consider:

H&K P2000 - Too expensive
H&K USPc - Too expensive
Glock 23 - Probably not your style based on current weapon selection (but a good choice)
Commander 1911 - Too expensive
Walther P99 (regular or compact you decide) in .40 with the AS trigger - PERFECT for you.  Try one out and if you don't love it I'll buy you a beer.

Take a look at the Springfield EMP & Kahr in .40

I second the S&W MP sub compact. When i was looking for a new ccw, iwas stuck b/t the glock and s&w sub com. I found one of each worked with both. The s&w held and shot better for me,so i when with it.

Dunno if this is thin and compact enough for you, but I find the USPc very easy to carry when I'm feeling like carrying something smaller / more compact than my fullsize 1911.

Kahr in 40 or the Walther PPS in 40.

Both are mighty thin.

Note the PM40 is a little hard on the recoil side.  You may want to get the next size up.

That gun felt very goofy to me in the store and the mag release felt very flimsy.
The price tag seemed a bit high. I would stick with a Kahr i carry a Cw9 great carry gun.

Or go with one of the all steel Kahrs (MK40/K40 etc.)

I am looking for one of these right now.
I have a glock 26, love it for a OWB, but want the few extra safeties the XD has for a IWB carry (want to keep all of my parts lol)

I have gotten spoiled by all of the features my other Walthers have, Cocked indicator, Decoker, Round in the chamer indicator...

This one does not have all of those, and while I really love the ambidextrous release of the Walther, I did not like that one.. felt odd.

I got a PPS in 40.  The PPS does have a cocked ind, and a round in the chamber ind.  It kinda has a decocker, by dropping the mag and releasing the backstrap it decocks.  It has taken me a little time to get used to the mag release.

The best thing is how thin this thing is. That and the various mag floor plates make this a very carriable gun.  I was also supprised by how accurate and how well this gun tames recoil.  I have to figure the 9mm would even be better.

If you really want a thin 40 ccw I would strongly suggest the PPS
