| I just picked it up this weekend at the Reliant Hall show in Houston for $629. All the hype i've been reading about this pistol is true. I shot 250 rds of Winchester ball and 230grn JHP plus some UMC ball with no failures. There was failure for the first rd to go fully into the chamber but that was caused by the rnd be very dirty. It was covered in brass colored flakes that were hard to wipe off. My brother and me were both able to shoot 3" groups at 25 yds with it. Neither of us had ever shot that well with a 45. Overall, I love this pistol and don't regret selling my USP 45 to get it. |

Congrats on your new buddy Unc. You got a great price, I paid $680 NIB for mine last Oct. I too am very pleased with this gun. I shoot this pistol with better accuracy than any pistol I've ever owned or shot. The trigger blows doors on my Beretta 92F. I did have to file the edges of the trigger abit to take the sharp edges down. Great gun at a fair price, gotta love it. Don't expect too many responses to your post. A lot of people here that still dislike S&W, don't care for forward serations on the slide, and don't like the external extractor. Their loss I say. Enjoy bro! Shabo |

The S&W1911 will accept any standard 1911 mag. It ships from the factory with 2 Wilson Combat 8 rounders. I believe the gun is mil-spec with the exception of the firing pin safety. The grip safety deactivates the firing pin safety, that is not standard I don't think. It does have a full length guide rod, not mil-spec I think. There are many much more knowledgeable 1911 enthusiasts here than myself who could better answer this question. Shabo |

Wolff springs throughout, Texas Armament match trigger, Chip McCormack hammer & thumb safety, Briley barrel bushing, 2 Wilson magazines, full-length heavy guide rod, high-profile Wilson beavertail safety and Novak Lo-Mount carry sights are some of the specs. Mine shoots like a dream. |
| Sorry dbshabo, I still haven't mastered the art of posting pics. One thing I forgot to mention, the SW1911 doesn't have some silly internal key lock on the gun. This was a big plus for me. The trigger feels like it's edges are sharp, but it isn't uncomfortable. I've read where some don't like the checkering on the main spring housing saying it also is too sharp. Again, I don't find it uncomfortable. I'm just very pleased that I was able to purchase a reliable and accurate 1911 that didn't need some extra work to get that way. Also, the Wilson mags from the factory was a nice touch. |
Then you get the group of guys who like that setup...and they tell you, you should have bought a Kimber Custom instead ;-) |
Old news , most of the new ones you see these days are way past the serial numbers involved. Good customer service in my opinion, the whole thing was handled well. So far the vast majority of those owners who have commented seem to like them. |
