I've got a Ciener kit for my 1911. It shoots far low and to the left. It has the fixed sights, as opposed to the target sights.
My question is this - on the standard "fixed" rear sight, you can still tap it to the side to move POI. Can this be done for the Ciener? I'm not sure that the rear sight is mounted the same way? What about elevation - is there anything I can do for that? Practice with it would be a bit more meaningful if I could hit what I was aiming at with it. It does group nice, just not where I want. Thanks. |

Maybe. There's more talk about Cieners in the Handgun - Accessories section.
My Ciener had adjustable sights so I don't know just what yours looks like. If it's in a dovetail groove, you should be able to drift it. The only cure for raising the POI is to file down the front sight. |

Bullets hitting low and to the left are often a sign of bad trigger control, or “flinch.” I’d make sure it’s the only fixed sight gun that hit’s there, or have another person shoot it first. (Sorry, don’t know you and your experience level, not trying to be a jerk at all) A .22 conversion unit is the absolute best accessory that money can buy, so good call there.
Outside of that (and I mention that, because I’ve yet to see a Ciener kit that didn’t hit to POA), your best bet would to, as already mentioned, buy an adjustable sight. |
