Which .45 do you like and why?

Wilson CQB.

Accurate
Reliable
Thin/concealable
Durable

I have a wilson combat CQB, Kimber tactical pro, springfield armory operator and a glock 21.

For my choice I choose the Para Ordnance  LDA C745.
I feel secure with it, yet fear no accidents.

It is what I consider a all steel Glock, with a better trigger pull, what is not to like.

1911 first, H&K USP 45 a VERY close second, and a Sig P220 bringing up a snug 3rd.

Depends what you're going for.

For COMBAT, USP/USP tactical all the way.  No other reasonable choice if that is an option.

However, if I had to take my Kimber TLE RL 2 into combat, I would feel just as comfortable.

Really depends what you're looking for...

If I could only have 1 I'd take my P220...followed by a 1911.  The 220 is accurate and idiot proof.

Dan Wesson Pointman Guardian Duce 1911

It's more of a "lower-end"/economy model but the pistol has been flawless so far and very accurate. I'm seriously considering another Dan Wesson 1911 when my tax return comes in.

Wheel gun first and by a wide margin, then 1911 then 220.

I love my Kimber TLE RL II and if I could carry it for duty I would.

1911
I shoot best with it,
nice n' slim IWB,
good for a bludgeoning.

very reliable, been around the longest and parts and ammo can be found any where in the world..I love the 1911..7 more years and its 100 and still very relevant.

USP would be my second

I'll be different and say what .45 I use and love, the Taurus PT-945. Beretta style action, slim, comfortable, ultra reliable and accurate. Best part? $399 NIB with 3 mags.

I have a 220 that I think is one of the best .45 combat pistols ever made, but its price was steep and it doesn't outperform my Taurus.

I sold mine in Favor of 1911's also spare magazines are too damn expensive.

1911 followed by the P220.

In order:

1:  1911.  It is what I have the most trigger time behind, and has the best trigger.  I may consider that ParaOrd LDA CCW pistol, though.

2:  SIG P-245.  Choice for when legally limited to DA pistols for protection details. Started with a 239, but hate 9mms and .40s for no other reason than I hate 9mms and 40s.  Big, heavy projectiles that move with authority are my stock in trade.  SIGS generally have a nicer trigger than other DA pistols, IMHO, especially when the hammer has been cocked for an SA shot.

3:  CZ-97.  Can be carried cocked and locked, and CZs just feel right.  Too big and heavy for concealed carry, though.

Wilson CQB!!!

H&K - never seen one hiccup in any condition.
1911 - good chance it will be the most accurate and has been proven a good combat design

HK all the way. Haven't had a single malfunction with it after 800+ rnds. I can field strip it without tools. I also changed mine to variant #9 (I think that's the variant #) to get rid of the useless decocker. I've been tempted by 1911s before just because of the trigger and who know, I still might get one someday but my USP-45 is damn accurate as it is.

I've had more FTFs with my 1911s (both SA & Kimber)Than ANY of my HKs.

Mike, if you haven't shot a USP, you are welcome to give mine a try. We could hit the Firing line one night if you want.

Yeah HKs are good, but can you conceal them in the summertime?

I would have guessed that the P220 would be doing better than it is in the poll.

If it's a .45. I use to have a usp.40 but the slide rail broke.

I carry a HK USP40C for CCW 365 days a year.  Not that hard to conceal with the right holster.

I carry MOB 90% of the time with a High Noon IWB MOB holster and use a Galco Fletch High Ride when wearing a heavy/winter coat.

"other" - I like all of the ones listed & then some.  The nicest thing about having an extensive personal firearms battery is that you don't have to limit yourself to this or that - you can have this AND that...

and one of those, and a couple of those, and I HAVE to have one of these...

(think Rodney Dangerfield in the campus bookstore at the beginning of Back to School...)

I prefer the full sized 1911, from one of the major manufacturers, simply because I shoot it better than any other handgun.

IMHO there is no finer pistol extant than a 1911 that works.  (Regrettably some 1911s don't work well.)  I have had good luck with Les Baers. If I couldn't have a good 1911, I would take a Sig P220 over the rest.  Watch-Six

Coin toss between a Sig220ST or a good "1911 type". (COLT)
A regular Sig 220 gets my 2nd place.
Being at home with the 1911 and liking the Sig SA/DA are the main reasons.

I like to carry 2 Colt Gold Cup National Match Mark IV Series 70 .45ACP.

Cocked and Locked

16 rounds

Point two directions at once

Light trigger pulls

Straight recoil no rockin' in the hand.

The 1911 is great for the history and the slimness, but when my life is on the line, I will go with the H&K.
