| Any test info on accuracy of S&W M&P 9 , Springfield XD/XDm 9, Glock 17/17L/19 as to which platform is inherently more accurate. |

Like some sort of scientific data, or what we've seen?
I thought I shot my M&P 9c better than any pistol I've owned...but I am just as accurate with my Glock 26. Odd since I haven't liked the ergos on Glocks much. I like both of them a lot. Both accurate enough for me. |

All of them are going to be more accurate than you unless you get a complete lemon.
Modern handguns are pretty darn accurate. Heck, I've made solid, repeatable hits on man-sized steel at 100 yards with my G19 and XS Big Dots. Also done it with a G26 w/Big Dots. If you have a proper trigger press, and a hard focus on the front sight, you'll make your hits with nearly ANY modern handgun... |

Thanks guy's, I shot the M&P 9 & 9C , the G17 & G19, and the XD9 & XDm9 all last night at indoor range. Shot them free hand ,from bag and from rest. Used 115fmj Rem & 124jhp Fed ammo.
All shots were from 18yrds. groups were as follows: Freehand M&P9 2 5/8 M&P9C 2 7/8 G17 2 7/8 G19 2 3/4 XD9 2 3/4 XDm9 2 3/4 Bag M&P9 1 7/8 M&P9C 2 1/4 G17 2 G19 2 1/4 XD9 2 1/8 XDm9 1 7/8 Rest M&P9 1 5/8 M&P9C 1 7/8 G17 1 5/8 G19 1 5/8 XD9 1 3/4 XDm9 1 5/8 I took average of two groups on all . Had no malfunctions . Only three flyers on the freehand runs 1 with G17 , 1 with G19, 1 with XDm9 Ergo's: Im 6'01 191 good shape hands are large in all glove sizes fingers are medium in thickness. M&P9 1st XDm9 2nd M&P9C 3rd XD9 4th G19 5th G17 6th Not sure why the Glocks felt that way to me they were both 3rd Gen guns, guess it was a balance thing. Sights: All were standard sights, no night sights so couldn't test contrast and brightness. XDm9 /XD9 1st M&P9/9C 2nd G17/19 3rd I ended up getting the M&P9, I shot it best freehand nad overall it felt best in my hand and im going to change the sights anyway. that being said I did like the XDm9 as well it did feel much better than the XD standard and to me was just behind the M&P. As for the Glocks I've been a Glock guy for around 8 yrs but the other guns have really steped up and are great platforms. Hope this lends some helpfull food for thought info. |

Even if one used a Ransom Rest to eliminate human error, there's still the matter of one gun liking one brand/weight of ammo better than another. Take three Glocks in the same model & bbl length & one is going to shoot the same box of ammo better than the other two, IMO.
Regardless, of the guns you listed, I'd say the accuracy difference in a Ransom Rest is going to be minimal at best. The only exceptions would be if a gun was REALLY accurate or REALLY inaccurate. My .o2 |
