hello all. first off, let me just say that  i am fairly new to pistols. i do not own any but do own a few rifles. i just had a few questions an a used pistol i was looking at the other day. it had sigarms on the pistol but said mauser on the original box. the guy behind the counter said that this .45 hardly has any recoil because of a rotating bolt???? which absorbs most of the recoil. i do not know model #. i do know it had a 3" barrel. do any of you have any experience with one of these pistols as far as how well built they are,how reliable, accurate, etc. i originly went in to hold either a glock 45 compact(model 30 i think or a springfield armory xd40. they were sold out of most of thier pistols due to a gun show last weekend and the mauser was the only one that fit the bill. it felt good in my hands, just curious on the reliability issue.

thank you in advance
Steve M

Had a buddy get one of these.  Great accuracy.  Soon as I figured out where the sights were set, I got fantastic groups.  The rotating BARREL helps the accuracy more than the recoil I think, but I don't find the .45 to be a hard recoiling round.  Just a nice, easy, smooth push.  Fit and finish seemed very nice EXCEPT for the striker/firing pin mechanism.  Absolutely un-polished, sandpaper crap-o-rama!  This condition led to rediculously light primer strikes with Rem. UMC and premium Golden Sabres.  All in all, if everything works right it's a good buy.  Have the clerk dis-assemble it for you and slide the striker mechanism back and forth.  If it feels gritty, get something else.  If it feels smooth and polished, grab it.  The striker mechanism will NOT "break in".  The trigger pull takes getting used to (but I'm a 1911 guy), but it's like a Double Action Only (DAO) revolver.  I was most impressed by the accuracy, haven't shot enough rounds to test reliability.  HTH
