I am considering getting my Springfield XD refinished in Robar's NP3.  Everything I've heard about it so far has been good.

Just wondering if anyone else has any other recommendations or any photos their handguns refinished in NP3.

Started like this:

After Robar NP3 on slide and parts, with Robar green coating on the frame:

Hardchrome is a much better looking option in my opinion....Top half of one of my Brens done by Tripp Research..

HK P7 M8: one with and one without NP3.  It is a pretty slick finish, and especially prized down here in the sweaty south.  If this pistol had rusted, my head would have exploded.

Thanks for the photos......

The hardchrome does look good, I wonder how it would hold up in a saltwater environment compared to the NP3

Industrial hardchrome. Will not chip, rust, fade etc. Toughest there is, and it is not paint, or some baked on finish. Same stuff that lines the bore of your AR.

Here's my VP70 with Roguard on the slide and NP3 for the sights, safety, trigger, and internals. I have been very impressed with the finish the pictures don't do it justice! The roguard is a very deep handsome black, and the NP3 has a nice grayish/silverish look to it. Now I know you're more interested in NP3, but I would be confident with either finish (well I do have both on my gun, albeit mostly roguard) .

Robar does good, it does take a really long time though.

Great looking gun.  Too bad Tripp Research no longer does chrome plating.

I really like the NP3. Easy to clean, most stuff just wipes off. Robar as a whole does a great job.

If you're having problems with corrosion and you're the original owner of the firearm, Springfield will refinish for free.  I think they'll do it even if you're not the original owner.  You could take the money you save and buy more ammo and mags.
