This may be a dupe but has anyone seen S&Ws newest 10mm?

Looks a bit small for 10mm but that has never stopped SW before...yes I know it has the lock, aside from that anyone interested???
MSRP = >$1000

For $1000 you'd think they'd at least give it it's own frame so there wouldn't need to be a big gap in front of the cylinder.

That is a 10mm cooling gap.  It was designed that way to help cool the immense awesomeness of the 10mm round.

I would be interested in a 4" model.

I'm not interested in any S&W for $1000. Much less a gun with a lock and ugly lines.

Why not just get a .41 mag?

This, Why get a 10mm in a revolver when you can have a .41 Mag? The 1 centimeter is good but the 41 is better in a revolver, as the 10 was developed for the Autoloaders , and as someone else already stated just get a G29.

ETA: I would like Springfield to come out with a 10mm XD

There are some distinct advantages to running a rimless cartridge in a self defense revolver,  The biggest one, at least IMO, is being able to run full moon clips on reloads as compared to speed loaders.  No buttons to push or twist, no empty speed loader to deal with.  Just drop in and close the cylinder.

Of course you can achieve this with rimmed rounds as well, but it's a couple of hundred to have the machine work done to the cylinder.  This is actually even better than full moons with a rimless round, once the machine work is done you can load from full moons or loose rounds.  But most places charge around $200 to do the work.  Plus shipping both ways if they're not local.

In a normal range or hunting revolver, I'd take 41 mag over 10mm any day, and I'm a fan of the 10.

You can use 10mm and 40S&W in that revolver.

Even better, the empties come out together, never get hung up on the cylinder release and fall to the ground easily. Then they are very easy to pick up.

The only cool 10mm revolver I ever saw was a M-28 Hwy Patrolman 4" converted to shoot 10mm in moon clips. All the rest are just a bit too pointless IMO.

If it did not have the integral lock, I would easily go for one.

I hadn't seen this one.  Kinda cool.

Yeah, the moonclips are cool.

But......................tell me the damn thing's not Scandium!

ETA:  Me, I'd never buy it though..................could get 2 Glocks for that!

That would be neat for the collection, but it seems like there are better options for revolvers or 10mm handguns.

Good point...the gun interested me only from a 10mm stand point but my 610-3 does well enough in the role that this revolver
is designed for. 1000 beans is alotta scratch for a snubbie

10mm is great but...

it is an autoloader round!

There are better options available for revolvers.

The Glock 29 would be slimmer and easier to conceal, and holds nearly twice as much ammo.

It's a gun for the same purpose, but it's much, much less space efficient and twice the cost.

Pass.
