I have been thinking about getting one. Can anyone in here tell me their experiances with one? I am curious as to what people think of them. How they hold up and How they like/dislike them.

I have a 10mm Witness Match. Haven't actually put enough rounds through it to have an opinion. Functioned fine so far on HP's and FMJ's I've had some issued with lead rounds feeding. Barrel lockup is very tight and slide fit is good. If it's durable it's a lot of gun for $500, also damn pretty for a handgun. BTW change out the factory recoil spring first thing to a heavier one.

No issues with mine. I'd rate it up there with my 1911.

There's been slide cracking issues with some, I'm not up on the full info but a couple of guys here have bought them and had slides crack.  You might want to check over on 10mm talk and see if you can get the full scoop before buying one.

Use a Wilson combat 1911 buffer and a 20lb spring. DO NOT use nuclear loads in that gun or it will break. I have a $400 10mm Witness that I have spent an extra $300 in shipping charges getting it fixed three times and finally replaced.

I had one in '08. After the glow of owning a cheap 10mm wore off, I traded it in on a Glock 20.

My issues:

TERRIBLE mag springs! Multiple FTF issues & I ended up spending $$ for Wolf +10% mag springs.

Less that acceptable accuracy. I will NOT tolerate a gun that won't shoot 3-4" groups!

I urge you to skip the Witness & go with a Glock 20 or a S&W 1076.

I'm going with Bob on this one despite being a huge CZ clone fan.
The witness in 10mm is a dog.

Get a used ex-police 10XX off of the net auction sites.

Block 20 has the grip of a 2x4 and the trigger of a Hi-Point, pass.

I own a 10mm Witness Match, bought it about 3 months ago. Still going strong, 500 rounds later. I bought it new, maybe they changed something?

Mine is stock, plain jane, Witness Match. In my experience, once you start screwing with something and you really don't know what your doing...it leads to problems.

Actually, their 20SF is supposed to come out in Feb. I've replaced my OEM trigger with a 3.5lb unit & the trigger improved dramatically! Had I done this with my previous two Glocks I may have kept them....................

I second this post, I had the same issues.  I have no opinion on the S&W 1076.

Mine's a match too. Seems to be a whole lot better gun than the regular one most of the posters are talking about. Great trigger and more accurate than I am. I would definetly change out the stock recoil spring though.

Haven't shot mine much maybe 200-300 rounds but I have never had issues or failures with it.  It was suggested to me a stronger recoil spring would be a good idea.  It will fire and feed .40 S&W but it is not recommended.  It just eats a hole in my wallet to shoot it when I have 2 9mms.

Recoil is snappy and akin to a non-1911 .45acp if not slightly more.  Mine is polymer framed, I suspect recoil will be less with the heavier metal framed model.
