LOL I'm on a quest for a tactical paperweight. What is the very cheapest functional handgun I can get? I'd prefer current production, but it doesn't have to be. I'd prefer a mousegun caliber... I'd prefer something that isn't likely to blow up. I may actually shoot the thing.
Once upon a time, you could pick up a Raven .25 for about $50. Is there anything close to that price range on the market? *GRIN* This thread ought to be interesting. Sam |

LOL, no, seriously, I'm looking for a paperweight. LOL
I own a Kel-Tec P-32 and a Ruger LCP. They take turns being my backup carry piece. I'm very happy with both of them. I'm sorta looking for potmetal... Well... zinc allow, probably. I'm thinking along the lines of cobra, hi point, skyy, etc. Something small, CHEAP, heavy, shiny. LOL Thanks. Sam |
"cheap" and "life" does NOT compute too well for me...
the cheapest gun i'd recommend would be a surplus Sig P225 trade in for ~$250 (if they are still around); if not, then the only "cheapo" gun thats in current manf i'd look to would be keltec, hi-point, and rossi revolvers |

go get yourself a ruger LCP. They are cheap and some people might bash them or dislike them, but ruger makes decent reliable firearms for the small pricetag. I have one, and I love it. LOL I'm not looking for a shooter. I have a couple of carry pieces, and a couple of backups. I'm looking for a paperweight. One that I *CAN* shoot if I so choose, but not a first line gun. Sam |
Not sure why your looking for a POS that can shoot if it had to.
For cheap I would go with a surplus gun like a CZ-52, CZ-82, TT-33 or Nagant revolver. These are all pretty good quality firearms though and you want junk. I guess goto a gun show and look for rusted out bargin guns that show up at every show that nobody buys.

I'm looking for a piece of junk. Pretty much literally. Something that I can use for instructional purposes to show the parts of a gun, and MAYBE fire occasionally. It's GENERAL purpose will be a paperweight. Something that I don't give a DAMN if someone steals, or if it gets damaged. *shrugs* I get that it doesn't make sense to most people. It doesn't have to make sense. I thought it would be fun to get suggestions. I've been cruising Gunbroker looking at Ravens, Jennings, Cobras, and Hi Points.... Sam |

They are dirt cheap, modern enough and crazy reliable for a pot metal gun. Hi-point is your answer. Gun shows usually overcharge and I saw them at the last one around me for like $170-$199 new. |

How about one of those funky Cobray/FMJ/Leinad/whatever the fvck name they're going by this month derringer/pepperbox?
A used Raven .25 would probably be the way to go if you insist on a cheapo mousegun. One of the Hungarian FEG .32acp Walther PP copies would be a big step up. Either one of these or a Nagant would be my choice. |
