Howdy, just wanted to know what the best way to age a smith. If I remember right theres a book that has the SN to date list. If anybody has the book or knows a place to do it online I would appreciate any info. Mod 65-5 SS 4inch .357 SN CBF83XX thanks |

I can’t find the CBF prefix at all in my Standard Catalog of S&W. However, the prefixes do run more or less in order. Prefixes CBA CBB CBC CBD are listed in 1996. And CBN is listed for 1997. Those are the only CB prefixes I see, so that’s no doubt the ballpark. FWIW, the 65-5 was made between 1988 and 1997. Hope this helps. |
