a light is good to have

whether its pistol mounted or handheld is up to you and how you have trained to handle em; personally, i'd prefer to have both, or at least a handheld light

YMMV

+1

When I carry, it's in a Raven Holster for G19 + TLR-1.
I ALWAYS have a Surefire E2E in my pocket.  And yes, depending on who you are, a may or may not be happy to see you.

I practice shooting with a handheld light as well as using my pistol-mounted light.

It's not an either/or situation.

If you have a weapon mounted light, you also need a good hand-held light.

Lights mounted on pistols are a good idea...just make sure you dedicate the proper time and attention to training on how to use it properly as well as doing the same for the handheld light.

I carry an M&P with a Surefire X200B on it 90% of the time these days. The other 10% of the time I carry the same weapon sans light.
