Has anyone got any thing bad to say about Bul Transmark M5 pistols which I believe are marketed in the US by Charles Daly.  Really looking for reasons NOT to buy one!
Also, does anyone have any idea whether it would be possible to have the .40S&W barrel reamed out so that I can shoot 10mm?

If I remember properly Freakshow10mm has had .40 1911's converted to 10mm at least once, so it can be done.  Might want to PM him or look up his posts here or over at the 10mm club at Glock Talk for more info.

Thanks 3rdpig - will do.  So no one has anything negative to say about the M5 - must be the absolute dogs bollocks of 1911 pistols!  Think I'll buy two.....

The Transmark BUL are truely excellent guns.

I can't rave about them enough, I love them.
Well made, hugely accurate, quality Pistols.
Nothing about them that I do not like.

Bad news, is that factory support is not too flash (acutally it's very bad), everything seems to take a long time.
Good news, almost all the parts are standard 1911 or will take para or STI parts.

Here is one of mine...... it is the IPSC Model, I have a government model too.

Young-Kiwi, Did yours come from the factory with the ambi safety? Every time I see one I want it but being a lefty I need an ambi safety.

Very nice pistol Young-Kiwi.  Who did you have install the fibre optic front sight?

The pistols come with a dovetail front, so you can put whatever you like in there.

I have one of the pre-CD Bul's in .38 Super and love it. Very dependable and it holds a lot of rounds!

What do you use your Government for if you've got an IPSC?

A Bul M5 IPSC in .357SIG (the baby-killing .40SW is not legal for IPSC this side of the Tasman) on my guns-to-buy list.

They're great value and we've got a good bloke disturbing them. Practically the only thing that isn't standard 1911 Gov't Model is the frame and mags.

Enjoy your full-capacity ones.

Dude, one of those with 9mm 18rd mags and a light rail would be the shiz-nit.
