Crunch time which one should be the right choice for me all i need is a very good tac driver, I want something with a long barrel, I dunno about the USP expert though I like it but the look of it bothers me. Accuracy and reliability is what i am looking for. USP Tac USP expert HK .45 Glock 20 Glock 21 SIg P250 full size when it comes out Springer XD New addition the Sig P220 Match Thank you for your time. |

I have a HK USP 45 Tactical and it is one of the most accurate handguns I own. The Glock 21 is great but it little too big for my hands The SIG P220 is a great gun, Love mine. The Match would be a great model, but it will not hold as many rounds as the USP or Glock The Springfield is a nice gun. Feels good, and is not as bulky as the Glock 21. The HK 45 is a new gun. I have not shot one yet but it feels great, nice controls and the trigger is better than the USP ( that is a good thing) and it has a O-Ring like the USP Match,Expert,Tactical,Elite, Mark 23. |
| The Glock is always a solid option. They go bang every time you pull the trigger (as a general rule) and they hold a lot of rounds. That said, I prefer the XD. It's not as mainstream, but in my experience, its been just as reliable and durable while fitting my hand a lot better than my best friend's Glock 21. |

Why did this thread even come about? Glock is and probably always will be High King of Shit Mountian. Of your other selections, I know of none of them that would stand up to half the abuse that a Glock could take and remain functional. I've owned them for over 20 years now, and all of mine, though used and abused are in perfect condition with no problems noted. Really Severe Glock 21 Torture Test Vote for or purchase whatever other piece of crap you will trust with your life. I'll stand behind Glock. *** Waits for the obligatory exploding Glock comments ***

I trusted my life to Beretta for a year in Iraq...and I will continue to do so. |
31B20 - Military Police here in the Reserves. I've been in since 1988. I was in Iraq from 05-06 myself, and I will be going back later this year for Round 2. The only reason I trusted a Beretta is because it was what SOP said I had to trust. Other than that, it was a hulking piece of shit. Just like the M4s, you have to super clean it every day; and I am not talking just a simple wipe down either. I used it twice in the line of duty, and had an FTE once - even when well cleaned with OEM sand-resistant magazines. There were more complaints about the M9 than any other weapon we had in our inventory, except maybe the M249s - which everyone hated with a purple passion. The IPs had G19s. They beat the crap out of them, abused them, never cleaned them, and shot the hell out of them. The other MPs in my 1SG petitioned BN to trade the IPs the Berettas for the G19s (which would never, could never happen). But, I digress just like the old soldier I am. Berettas are not polymer. -1 for me for going off-task. G21 FTW! |

If you like the look, function, etc. of Sig...have you looked at FNP 9, or 40 (These get bonus points for being in the $500 range NIB) I know Glocks get alot of love in the Polymer category. I have a big scar on my right index finger and the Glock trigger safety plays hell with the nerve endings. Another polymer showing promise (for me anyway) is the Beretta PX4 (storm?) in 9 or 40. Just mentioning these in case they weren't on your radar. |
I had no problems with my Beretta, even with the Checkmate mags. I rotated those regularly though. Once we got the new mags, there were no issues. Same with the M4s. HK mags - problems (already few and far between) disappeared. I only did weapons maintenance once a week and we went outside the wire 6+ days a week. |

I think he said he didn't want a polymer 1911, or another 1911 at all for that matter. |
No no, sorry just do not like those especially the Kimber one it is really ugly. |
I have big hands and to me the USP was bigger than the G21, the Glock was hand filling and comfortable, the USP was a BRICK and sharp, that checkering was aggressive! YMMV The USP Expert is still sexy, and accurate! |

For me, XD. For you? Go to a range and rent them all, and whichever one you are best with, carry that. Simple enough. We're all different, for any of us to give you an end all recommendation is an exercise in futility. By the way, XD's have taken the Glock torture tests as well, and offer tactile chamber and cocking status indicators, as well as a grip safety, and oh yeah, Odingaard, they don't blow up! |

When you said you wanted a "Tack Driver", HK's Tactical, Expert and Elite came to mind. I love my Tactical .45, it's very accurate. I like the look of the Expert over the Elite, the Elite looks funky to me but it still is accurate as hell. I basically decided between the Tactical and Expert and I couldn't be more happier about my choice. I do regret never getting a HK Mark 23, but thats not on your list. The Glocks you listed are the 4" Service models. If you decided to go with a Glock for Target/Match shooting, the G34 and G35 would be the proper choices (They have Match Triggers, Adjustable sights and longer Slides). The G34 and G35 are 9mm and .40, and I'm guessing you wanted either .45 or 10mm. HK Is the right choice for accuracy. Micrometer Sight, Adjustable Match Trigger and a Polygonal barrel that has an o-ring to keep the barrel centerline of the slide. Are Sound suppressors legal in Turkey? If so, go with the .45 Tactical. If not, then go with the expert. You will not regret either choice! Regards, Nathan |
