| What kind of performance can I expext from this round? Will it do for defense? How does it perform on an individual wearing a coat or heavy clothing. What is a good defensive round? John |

well it beats a .22lr . . . the .32 acp is somewhat underpowered, It was what many european handguns were chambered in, as pistols were a badge of office, not so much a functional tool. That is why the 1911 came about, a pistol was needed that had some stopping power. The 9mm replaced the .32 in europe, and you can find some really compact 9mm's out there. A 147 gr +p hollowpoint, though its not a 230 gr +p .45 hollwpoint, will still ruin someones day. Stay away from the .32 unless its all you have. |

A 32 is probably the bottom of the scale when it comes to stopping power. The pistols are usually deep concealment types which gives them some advantage. My wife carries the Kel-Tec P32. I tried to get her interested in the P3AT, but she had so much trouble with the recoil spring that she wasn't comfortable with it. I'd rather her have a gun that she will carry and practice with then one that gets left at home most of the time. I will suggest a FMJ round though. I think penetration is the name of the game when it comes to these small projectiles. |

It doesnt matter what you use, shot placement is the key. I definately wouldnt use hollowpoints in it though, because penetration will be an issue. Personally I carry a .380 the majority of the time. But a .32 will do the job, just as long as you make a good CNS hit. |
