i bought a stoeger cougar .40 a few days ago, put 200 rounds through it, and about 10 or so times i had a problem. i would shoot, the action would cycle fully, but when the trigger was pulled, the hammer would not fall. after about 4 or 5 pulls, it would drop the hammer and it would fire. i am unhappy with this handgun because of this. other wise it was fairly accurate. i did not re-lube the gun after i unboxed it, but i did wipe it down. this seems very unsafe, even if cleaning/lubing was a fix, the problem would come back if it was dirty. note--- same day at the range my slide stop on my berreta 96 inox broke |

If the hammer didn't fall when you pulled the trigger, how did you get it to drop eventually? Also, what kind of ammo are you shooting? They are neat guns but I don't know alot ofpeople that have them. But nevertheless, I'd be interested to hear what the answers are to the above questions. |
| the hammer fell after pulling on the trigger 3 or 4 times, but it felt like the hammer fell on its own, ( the trigger felt like it wasnt connected to anything). ammo type wont matter, but fyi i used remington umc, WWB, and remington hollow points, all went threw it. either way i cleaned and oiled the gun, tried it again yesterday, and had the same problems. i will be returing the gun to cabelas today. |
