A local fun dealer has one of these in .357 that caught my eye. Does anyone have any experiance with them and care to offer some insight?

Those that don't like them, do you recommend something better for around the same price?

Thanks

tag for feedback.  What's your dealer asking for it?

I went with the Beretta Stampede.  Better fit and finish.  Got one standard and one INOX.  Both 4 3/4

Does the Taurus have the stupid lawyer lock like their double action revolvers? If so that would be a deal killer for me.

I thought it was around $400. It was stainless with a longer barrel, me thinks 7" or thereaboubts.

Save your cash for a Ruger. They are 100 times better.

Any first hand proof to back this up? Not what your dads' cousin's sister's dog's friend said.

+1

the fit and finish of the one I saw was on par with most decent handguns.

I picked one up in .45Colt a while back.

I did have some issues with an extremely light trigger that had it go back to the factory right away. The trigger was set to less then a pound and it made for a lot of light strikes on the primers.

Sent it off, 4 weeks later I got it back.

I have to say that after getting it back it is working 100%. The trigger was taken up to about 2lbs and its nice and crisp. Fired over 1.5k rounds through it to date. It shoots to POA@25yds and hitting things even at 100yds is a cakewalk with it. Even tried hitting the 300yd gong at the range and rang it quite a few times, although you sure do need to give it A LOT of elevation at that range.

No real issues with it at all..... except I spend a lot of time in the reloading room trying to keep it fed. Im using a 250grn LRN over 5.2grns of Trailboss. Man, that trailboss is some goooooooooooood stuff.

So Id say give the one youre looking at a good once over and make sure the trigger isnt REALLY light.... other then that I cant wait to get another.

I've had a .45 Colt Gaucho for about 1 1/2 years. I have about 1000 rds through it. No problems at all. Very light and slick triger and action. I can hit a paper plate at 50 yds shooting duelist. Great revolver in my book. It does have the lock on the hammer. I'd almost forgotten it was there.
